Our sons V Pocket seemed to have problems with shutting off in the middle of games.It did it with new batteries and even with the adapter wall plug in. I purchased the power pack about 4 months ago.And it seems to have taken away all of the problems. My son plays his v pocket everyday.He takes it on trips to the store, resteraunts, and vacations.And can play for a long time. When I put him to bed at night I just put it on the charger.And when he gets up , it’s ready to go again.:)

I bought it thinking it would work and didnt fit our VTech V.Smile Pocket. You got to make sure that your V.Smile pocket is able to use the power pack.

This product does not work on the v smile pocket that it advertises for I bought three and my children have not been able to use them. Very disappointed. It is suppose to work on all v smile pocket and it only works on the ones with the blue buttons if yours has orange buttons like mine then you are out of luck.

I thought about getting this item thinking the charging time would be faster. After reading reviews and seeing the charge time is 2-3 hrs I thought this is no faster than the battery charger we use for all our rechargable batteries. After spending a bunch of money on batteries , we decided last year to just buy rechargables and a charger. We paid about $17.00 for a charger and 4 AA batteries and it works perfect. I have noticed that I have to work with the back cover a bit when reinstalling the batteries( about 30 seconds!!) since I am using rechargables(did not realize this was why until after reading reviews of this product). The little bit of time invested in that part is so worth it.Weve not had to by batteries yet and we purchased this (the pocket) for Christmas.
I also went through a return with V-tech on my son’s console unit and boy was that exhausting, like a full time job. I too had to pay for postage $10 to send back and it took 6 weeks to get my replacement. I hope I never have to return anything again. I think this sounds like a waste of money and not very user friendly. My suggestion is head down to your local Walmart and pick up rechargable battery charger and some rechargable batteries! Bonus: They also work for all your other toys!!

I purchased this for my son for Christmas. It was a bit annoying trying to get the vsmile to charge correctly. Worked fine for a while then I got tired of trying to get the vsmile placed “just right” so it would charge. I finally contacted vsmile and was sent a return letter. You need this for return tracking. No problem once I found the number to call to report my problem. I paid postage to resend it, bummer but in the end worth it. I receieved a new product within 2 weeks and it works SO MUCH BETTER. No special adjustments for this one. I do hope vsmile takes notice and fixes this bug. If your system is not working right, contact Vtech and send it back! My kid LOVES this! I like it better than leapster.
