I purchased the Vtech Cyber Pocket for my 5 year old daughter for Christmas. She played with it on Christmas morning for all of maybe 15 minutes and the machine shut off. It would come back one but this continued all day. I even tried changing the batteries twice with no success. So I ordered another one from Amazon the same day. Got it two days later and it was working fine. I thought I must have just had a bad one but now the speakers don’t work. Amazon is sending another replacement but please be warned before you buy this product you may have to return it. The games are great but if the unit doesn’t work – there isn’t a whole lot of learning on – just tons of lovely frustation!!! Hope the third time is a charm.

i think that everyone here that is complaining about this toy, bought it used.
my 3 yr old loves this toy, we used regular batteries for the game at first but after 1 hour of play the batteries were drained. i bought some rechargable batteries designed for high power things like games and cameras and have not had to recharge them yet…
if the game does not work for you, check the cartridge you inserted sometimes they are dirty and will not play in the machine!
this is a great toy for a younger child trying to play the older child;s game boy!

If you read the reviews, it is either they love it very much, or they hate it because the unit broke down. This just shows that it is hit or miss when you buy this Vtech. I too bought all the games, and I too experience problems with this unit. The company needs to focus on improving their quality. Once they do that, I am sure they will be more successful.

I bought two V-tech Cyber pocket Learning Systems..one for my daughter and one for my son for Christmas. My son’s stopped working within the first twenty minutes or so and my daughter’s stopped working two days later. (both just shut off in the middle of play and never turned back on) I was going to exchange them for new ones…but after reading the reviews, I think I am just going to get my money back and purchase the Leapster versions. I would NOT recommend these to anyone! My children loved playing with them…only to be devestated when they would not work any longer! Not worth the money at all!!!!!

I purchased a brand new in the sealed box,V.SMILE CYBER POCKET PINK, 9 games and an AC adapter. After opening it and putting in brand new just opened batteries it would not come on. So I opened the brand new AC adapter plugged it into a wall outlet that had electricity and it would not come on. If you talk to the company you are treated as if you are stupid, asking if batteries are even in it, or do you have electricity. I spent over $[...] dollars on this and my child has not even played it. PLEASE DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY because you will not be able to get your money back from the company. PS–I click 1 star however there show be a box for negative stars because mine would be -5 stars
