my husband INSISTED that we get our child some type of computer this christmas that she can use. she is almost 3 and seems very interested in computers, as are all children her age who see so much of mommy and daddy’s attention focused on a computer. We bought this little pc pal and only played the games that came with it. the graphics are sub-par to what kids are used to and the components have a slow response time. the games we played were lame! a few of the objectives were: use the keyboard to find words beginning with pressed letters, find which item of 3 doesn’t belong using the mouse, or color a picture using the writing pad… from a pc skills perspective, these seem adequate, but the slow response time of the mouse, keyboard, and writing pad will more likely frustrate than teach kids anything… additionally, some of the games were closer to a 5-7 year-old’s comprehension level, and by that time most kids will be bored to tears by these games. Lastly, the so-called ‘computer skills’ games – mail, chat, and music – are so unimpressive in terms of educational value that I’d rather just let her watch TV! She learns more valuable skills playing with her magna-doodle! Ultimately, this experience leads me to believe that anyone thinking of starting their kids early on computers should just dust off an old PC, lock it down so they can’t crash it in a few clicks, and get a few of the $5.00 preschool PC games out there… stay away from these TV-plug-in wastes of money! What you want is a PC for your little one… so get ‘em a PC!

We 100% do not recommend buying this product. The quality of the product, the graphics, and the games are terrible. We bought the PC Pal, the joystick, art studio, and 2 games and tried everything out before we gave it to our daughter and we could not believe how primitive the graphics are and how lame the games are. We bought everything from VSmileShop.com that completely misrepresenst this product then charges you a 20% restocking charge on all returned items plus shipping to get it and then to return it! They already have an unsatisfactory rating from the Better Business Bureau and I learned a hard lesson to not trust a website that does not have a cusomer service number and to read the term of use before buying anything and if they charge you for returning a product, steer clear of them! We are returning everything despite being out $65 after shipping and restocking fees b/c the product is horrible. You’d be much better off getting a few normal computer games for $15 a piece. Too bad- if the product was good quality, it’s a great concept.

I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter and she loves it. It’s her very first computer and she is learning to use the mouse and control the images. She still needs help from her mother, but not for long.
